Milan Ring is a true multi-tasker in the best sense of the word – she is a producer, mixer, writer, instrumentalist, and performer. Following her collaboration with UK rapper Che Lingo on her first single of the year, “BS,” here comes “Hide With You,” a subtle rap and late-night R&B tune that reveals her sensitive side.
The track is very relaxing, the main instrument used is piano, and the whole song is infused with jazz relaxation. It is a beautiful ode to the process of healing where Ring’s voice is the main focus, and gradually crescendos into an operatic style. The feel of the song is also reflected in the music video which was shot by her and Caitlin McCartney, her housemate during the Australian lockdown.
The song Ring is performed against a backdrop of yellow and orange, and Ring sings such lines as, ‘He told me to step back but that wasn’t enough / it seems I was getting too rough,’ which makes for a captivating video and song combination.
