Soft Loft – “Little Less”

When an artist cites Maggie Rogers and Sharon Van Etten as influences, it instantly grabs our attention—and raises our expectations. So, when we hit play on “Little Less,” the latest single from Soft Loft, we had high hopes. We’re happy to report that they more than delivered.

“Little Less” is only the band’s second single, but trust us, after hearing it, you’ll be searching for their debut (we’ve made it easy by linking it at the bottom of the page). The band describes the track as “a love song with just a little less love,” and their connection to Rogers and Van Etten shines through.

Though the song is pitched as dream pop, it retains a raw edge, opening with drums and cleanly plucked guitar. The vocals, which come in around the 15-second mark, are stunning—imagine a blend of Rogers, Van Etten, and a dash of Fiona Apple. Soft Loft’s vocal delivery is refreshingly clean, showcasing their talent without relying on heavy effects, all beautifully balanced with the reverb-laden guitar.
