Tamera – Good Love”

Tamera – Good Love”

“Good Love” is a romantic song that has a feeling of autumn. Starting with a gentle and monotonous tune of synthesised strings before Tamera comes in, her voice complements the playful percussion and warm synths. The song builds up and progresses in the same way as a first date, and it discusses the essence of love with a hint of wordplay with lyrics such as “got me on tap/on WAP”.

The song has a highlight with Tay Iwar, who has previously collaborated with WizKid. Iwar’s vocals seep into spaces left in the melody before he and the other artist sing. The duo has done a track that gives an echo of Tamera’s earlier stripped-back vocals in the song, which is a perfect representation of modern relationships. Not only do their voices blend and interweave, but the relationship between voice and guitar is as give-and-take as modern love is constructed. Melancholic and multi-textured, Tamera’s latest song confirms her as an artist to follow.

Like everybody else, Tamera’s creativity in making music was affected by the pandemic, but she says “it made me self-efficient” – some of the tunes were written in the kitchen.
